Senior Arts Scholarship Program

The Senior Arts Scholarship Program annually awards financial assistance to graduating DGN seniors who plan to continue their educational journey in the fall following high school graduation and who also plan to participate in a collegiate fine arts experience. The FOFA Senior Scholarship Committee reviews the applications in a blind format and selects at least one recipient each year. Applicants must be seniors with post-high school educational plans who are in good academic standing. Applicants must also have completed at least six semesters worth of Fine Arts credit upon graduation from Downers Grove North High School.

Current DGN seniors may apply for a scholarship if they are planning to be both involved in the fine arts and continue their education in the fall of 2024. To be eligible, the student must be enrolled in a Fine Arts course during their senior year and have completed 6 semesters of Fine Arts courses upon graduation from Downers Grove North High School.

About the Senior Arts Scholarship Program

WHO CAN APPLY?

Current DGN seniors may apply for a scholarship if they are planning to be both involved in the fine arts and continue their education in the fall at some level. To be eligible, the student must be enrolled in a Fine Arts course during their senior year and have completed 6 semesters of Fine Arts courses upon graduation from Downers Grove North High School.

WHO IS SELECTED?

The Senior Arts Scholarship Program awards at least one student annually, but can award scholarships to many different recipients. The Scholarship Review Committee will review the applicant’s grades in the Fine Arts, school activities involving the Fine Arts, activities outside of school involving the Fine Arts, other extracurriculars at DGN, civic/community service, work experience, and essays about the applicant’s future plans and growth as an artist/musician/thespian.  All of these components will be judged blindly and relative to other applicants with similar future plans. Semi-finalists may be required to attend an interview with the Scholarship Review Committee in April. The recipients will be presented with the scholarship at the DGN Senior Awards Night or by a phone call from the FOFA President.

WHERE CAN I APPLY?

A link to the official application can be found above. Applications for the graduating class of 2024 are due March 20, 2024.
